Yordana & Angel
When most people think of Maymont, they picture the Italian Gardens. But on this day, that space was reserved. So we made the Japanese Garden our entire elopement backdrop. And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.
Tucked away below the main grounds, the Japanese Garden at Maymont is a quieter, more intimate setting. Waterfalls, stone bridges, and layered greenery make it feel like its own world. It turned out to be the perfect venue for a quick, private elopement.
The Japanese Garden is known for its magnificent waterfall — and it really is. But if you held a ceremony there, you’d have an audience. They chose a quieter path overlooking a pond, where they could share vows without distraction.
We kept the shoot simple: just the couple, a few quiet vows, and walking portraits around the garden. The light was perfect. The energy between them was easy and real. I love so many of these photos — and that dip? Phenomenal.
Congrats to Yordana and Angel!
