Surprise Proposal at Bryan Park (Richmond, VA)

Man proposing on bridge, woman reacts with joy

Grace & Luke

They walked past like it was any other afternoon in the park. I had the drone up and stayed casual, just a random person enjoying the park. A few steps later, he pulled her in, dropped to one knee, and asked the question. The silent shutter let me capture the whole thing without breaking the moment.

Bryan Park is perfect for couples who want privacy and tree cover. It’s not as common as other Richmond spots, and there are quiet paths where you can pull this off without a crowd.

The azalea pond wasn’t looking its best (green, sorry), so I tried to capture the bridge only. For wider shots, I opted for black and white.

After the surprise, we walked the park for a quick engagement session. I leaned into the woods, roads of Bryan Park, and a few photos overlooking their proposal spot. They were so fun together. Easy laughs, natural posing, great energy.

Huge congratulations to these two. I’m so excited for what’s next for them.
